You have developed a GNU/Linux application, alone or with a small team?

Here is what you can do to help the GNU/Linux community, the millions of mislead computer users and eventually yourself:

  1. Determine the percentage of participation of each developer/writer/artist having contributed to your app.
  2. Set the amount you'll ask for the registration of your app. Typically this should lay between $12 for a small tool and $36 for a large application.
  3. Open a PayPal account if you don't have one yet. As far as I know in June 2006, the "PayPal Personal" account doesn't take fees outside eventual currency change. See details for your country on http://www.paypal.com
  4. Write at least two web pages, one to describe your application, the other to describe the registration process. Feel free to copy and adapt from http://www.migo.info/xlocate/readme_en.php and http://www.migo.info/xlocate/register_en.php, where specific mandatory application data have been abstracted in the files authordata.php from the parent directory and appdata.php and appdata_en.php from the same directory. Don't forget to modify the PayPal button code, otherwise I will be the one to get the payments from your users ;-)
  5. Be sure to have a link to http://www.migo.info/tuxware/toc_en.php on the web page dedicated to registering your app. In case you have suggestions or would like to modify the Tuxware page, please send me a mail so that we discuss it, instead of forking a new one.
  6. Eventually add translations of your pages, with file names ending by "_xy" instead of "_en", where xy is the 2 letters language code.
  7. Drop  an email with your app's site so that I can update the Tuxware apps list.
