Evidence #1: If GNU/Linux was more widespread, it would be counter-productive for hardware manufacturers to go on ignoring it. So the non IT oriented people could easily take on their own to make the step to the world of Free Software. This would lift the last valid objection for upgrading to freedom.
Evidence #2: If Free Software developers could get some cash from their highly time demanding hobby, they might turn it into a part time or even a full time job, and then no doubt that the extra involvment would produce still more cutting-edge and innovative apps.
Evidence #3: It would be wise to avoid leaving a key factor of the world's business in the hands of a private company and its proprietary standards.
Applying the Tuxware scheme should make the Free Software developers a bit less heroic and their users a bit more involved.
